SCOREKEEPING/P.A. ANNOUNCING
DALLAS SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT (DALLAS STARS CORP.),
MANSFIELD BARRACUDAS
When I am not at my broadcast job, I officiate and announce hockey games as a scorekeeper. Since January 2022, I have trained numerous scorekeepers and worked with countless referees, some of whom I have developed healthy business relationships with. I have also had the privilege of scorekeeping games for former NHL players who coach now, like Joe Pavelski, Steve Sullivan, and Radek Dvořák. Since the Dallas Stars corporation has a monopoly over the ice rinks in DFW, I have been able to work at multiple locations. As of this writing, I am nearing my 1,000th game milestone.
Not every scorekeeper doubles as a P.A. announcer, but I always have. Doing so has enabled me to be the favorite scorekeeper for many players and referees, according to what they have told me. I have even been dubbed "The Voice of The Branch," as I am based out of the Dallas Stars rink in Farmers Branch, Texas. One player gave me the opportunity to announce for a semi-professional team that he plays for, called the Mansfield Barracudas, which I have been doing since January 2024. I spliced some clips of me talking from a recent game.
